A young, well to do, white woman walks ( being pulled ) her dog Charlie down the road. A young, well to do, man approaches and tries to explain about the procedure of how to HEEL a dog.. Her reply, Don't tell me how to walk my dog, psycho and she swiftly moves on..

A young, well to do, hispanic / asian / african America woman walks ( being pulled ) her dog Charlie down the road. A young, well to do, man approaches and tries to explain about the procedure of how to HEEL a dog.. Her reply, very open and receptive.. Doesn't see this as an intrusion at all into her freedoms or femininity. Doesn't see psycho.. Not in fear..

Of course, this is a generalization, but this is the thinking of many men out their nowadays. Many American white men, see white woman as unapproachable stuck-up fearful or feminists. They see other races of woman as approachable. Of course, I don't speak for all, but wanted to put this out there and get comments from woman. Thankyou

and what does chivalry %26amp; courtship have to do with someone telling someone else how to do something 'properly'?

if you're talking approachability, you didn't use a very good example. did you try this out with every woman you saw walking a dog? did you also do a survey of them, asking them basic fundamental beliefs about dogs, strangers, advise, and also men?

then i'd venture to say that your *one* encounter with *one* woman, assuming that even happened, could not provide you with enough info to even begin to generalize, especially since one must assume it was the only encounter that did potentially occur, since you were so vague about the "hispanic / asian / african America woman " encounter, so you actually have no basis for your argument, using the example you did.

and also, have you ever offered to correct a man when you saw him do something 'incorrectly'? was there a difference in response that varied according to race?

Tell me Peter, what would you do if an unfamiliar woman approached you and gave you unsolicited advice on how on walk your dog properly??? Oh wait, you're a man, so you would never find yourself in that situation, because, as a man, you automatically think you know how to better walk a dog...and therefore if a woman did approach you to CORRECT you, you'd probabaly have a mental melt-down like no other.

Your post? BALDERDASH.

EDIT:

Peter, your whole post is loaded with pretense. And no, you are not "friendly" but "feind -ly".

Shilvery is dead, women killed it.

Feminism movement, equal rights?? It's 2007, I think they have it pretty good considering.

Let's talk about something more meaningful like world peace or AIDS.
Probably comes from militant feminists claiming that every single male is a rapist or potential rapist. Paranoia sets in.
Nothing beats a patronizing stranger offering unsolicited advice. Perhaps it is your approach. I wouldn't have welcomed it either - that sort of thing puts me off every time. Has nothing to do with race or fear.
